Notes from the Chair...
Hey Gang! Hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable summer.
Thought I'd take a few minutes and jot a few thoughts down for you all about what's going on.
First of all, let's start with Tet Frags 208. Watch your mailboxes this week, it is on its way. I sent it out a little later than I had hoped because Tim Kelly needed a little extra time to get the cover finished. I decided to wait for Tim because I thought it was important to have
another cover done by a member of the group. If you go back to TF 200 (done by Carl Gafford, our founder), 201 was done by Marc Haines (member), 202 was done by Rantz (non-member), 203 was done by JKC (member), 204 by John Yeo (member), 205 by Jerry Gaylord (non-member), 206 by Kevin Williamson (non-member), 207 by Marc Haines (member) ~ we've had a good number of member covers and I would like to keep that going. Besides, I still got it out in August to keep the bi-monthly schedule alive!

Which leads me to my next point... the deadline for TF 209 is Friday Sept. 25th, so I can get the ish out in October. You'll see when you get it that 208 is a little light on content, hopefully as the summer is winding down, we can get some more participation for 209. I also am going to need a cover for the issue.... Any volunteers? :-)
If you take a few minutes, you may notice some updates here on the ol' UFO site. I added a bunch of TF covers to the gallery. You also may have noticed the logo on the opening page for NESPA (New England Small Press Assembly) that says "coming soon..." NESPA is a small press convention, which will be debuting July 18, 2010 here in Rhode Island. It is being organized by Smilin' Sam Gafford and myself. We're starting small for 2010 but have aspirations that it will someday be another great in show in line with shows like STAPLE, SPACE, STUMPTOWN COMICS FEST and SPX. We'll be sure to fill you in on all the details as time goes on.
I also wanted to take a moment to address the future Chairmanship (is that a word?) As the fall will
be upon us shortly, the time is coming to think about a Chairman for 2010. I have enjoyed most of my 2 years as Chairman and am very proud of where we've come since I took over at the end of 2007. I would be more than happy to continue as Chairman in 2010, but that is something for you, the membership, to think about. If anyone else would like to throw their name in the ring, please do!!
I have to end this blog with an apology to our newest member Darrell Goza. Darrell, I'm sorry, I
somehow left you off the roster that appears in TF 208. I assure you, you are still a member!! LOL!! I've already corrected the mistake for the roster that will appear in TF 209.
